Nothing beats a threaded insert when you need to provide for frequent assembly / disassembly or adjustment. Unfortunately, in the past, if your application required corrosion resistance, threaded inserts were no longer an option. Now they are! These 18-8 stainless steel inserts are available in 3 commonly used thread series. Because the inserts do not have the deep external knife-like threads of our steel or brass inserts, these are best used in hardwoods where the material density will support the shallow threads. The inserts are slightly tapered on each end (“lead”) for installation ease, and have three full-length external flutes to provide a balanced cutting action when installed. Install using driver 3606-SSD. 5 per pkg. Made in Taiwan.
