I used this item for attaching leg extensions to a glove stand I had built for my daughter. She decidedthat she wanted to be taller. I am using this item to attach the extensions with hanger bolts.

I used these in end-grain hard oak and they worked very well. I recommend using the driver bit to install- a bit pricey, but worth it.
