You certainly don't want to scrimp on dust protection and these 3M brand N95 respirators are certified under NIOSH 42CFR84 to have a minimum filter efficiency of 95% or greater against dusts and other non-oil particulates, just like more expensive repsirators. However, if you're willing to sacrifice a small amount of comfort (when compared to more expensive, pre-formed models) in order to save a bit of money, these respirators are perfect! The 3M brand "Advanced Electret Filter Media" is lightweight and if efficiently traps nearly microscopic airborne particles. Double elastic headbands help keep the respirator snugged comfortably which is important for effective seals. A foam nose pad backed by a flexible metal strip helps maintain that seal in the critical nasal area. Supplied in boxes of 20. NIOSH approved. Made in USA.
