Japanese Garden Bench Design Plan
by Russell Jensen
A combination of Tudor and Asian design, the garden bench incorporates the curved armrests and taped back splats of the Asian style with chunky front legs and angled back legs from the Tudor style. This intermediate skill level plan uses a table saw with a tapering jig to create the angled rear legs. Simple mortising jigs are
used to create 40 different mortises to join the bench together. The plan includes a cut list and full-size and scale drawings. The finished bench size is 24-1/2"D x 60"W x 33"H. Copyright 2008.
