If your Squares aren't square then you can't expect your project to end up square either. Start with a stainless steel ruler and attach it to a milled cast zinc body for a start. Then add rare earth magnets for locking both the ruler and the scribe and you are well on your way to designing the perfect square. Permanently etched graduations in both imperial and metric on the 12" ruler help to keep you on mark, as well as level with the plumb vial.
