Dayton Belt & Disc Sanders 2" x 42" x 6" Sanders
This is one of our favorites…! It’s a bit of a hybrid between a sander and a grinder. You can sand a variety of material: wood, nonferrous metals, plastic, etc. using either the disc or the belt. What’s nice about this unit is that the belt has a platen for flat sanding; however, it can be removed for contour sanding. We also like the speed of the belt which is great for quick surface removal and sharpening. The 6" disc is great deburring, beveling and sanding; however like all sanders DO NOT grind aluminum or magnesium. The sander has a totally enclosed, fan-cooled 1/3 HP motor. The belt table tilts up to 60º and the disc table tilts up to 45º for angle sanding. Features a quick release tension making belt changes quick and easy. The disc guard has a 1-1/2" dust collection chute. Imported.

I removed the belt table and put on the guard plate to allow belt changes. I cut away the lower half of the plastic disc chute to allow for disk changes. It does a good job sharpening gouges.The disk guard is a little iffy, we will see how it holds up.
