The EPA’s Lead RRP recommends that contractors performing work on pre-1978 homes use HEPA filter vacuum cleaners to minimize dust and thoroughly clean the work area. The Nilfisk Eliminator I (5 gallon) and Eliminator II (12-gallon) are durable wet/dry vacuums designed to withstand the abuse of a rugged renovation environment, while maintaining strong suction and filtration capabilities. Their multi-stage filtration system features a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of debris, down to and including 0.3 microns. Both vacuums come with a 10' hose with curved aluminum wand, 2 extension wands, dust brush, crevice nozzle, and a floor tool with 3 inserts. For containment during pick-up of dry lead debris, use the disposable bag (136279) to protect the HEPA. Both vacuums can also be converted to a wet vacuum to collect liquids and include a float valve that automatically shuts off the vacuum to prevent overflowing.
