I first used this tool about 25 years ago when I was salvaging some mahogany foundry patterns that had been assembled with screws. Through some strange process, those screws seemed to have welded themselves to the wood, at least when I tried removing them with a brace or bit or even an electric drill. Amazingly, they loosened quickly when I used this high-powered impact tool. A rap or two with a striking hammer and the screws removed easily.
This reversible impact tool is made of solid steel to withstand years of use and requires no power other than a hearty lunch, so it is perfect for inclusion in an off-road tool kit. When struck, it rotates 20 degrees to loosen or tighten screws, nuts or bolts. Included are #1, #2, #3 and #4 Phillips bits, one slotted bit, and a carrying case. It uses 5/16" hex shank driver bits designed for impact use or (depending upon the model) 3/8" or 1/2" drive impact sockets (not included). Made is USA.
