Comments about 10 x 4 Wood Screws, Unplated Steel, Flat Head, Square Drive:
Until I found these screws, I couldn't make some of the stronger joints that I wished to make. These screws are a bit longer than is usually available for this screw size and they are plenty strong to take the additional torque. I use a long 9/64" drill bit for a guide hole and everything went together great! I am pleased with the quality of this screw!
screw head is easy to strip!

Screws don't snap off and they can be removed.
Guerrilla Strong Screws

I make chairs, particularly Maloof style rockers. I have found that I can depend of McFeelys screws. They are super strong. I have never broken one or experienced failure of a joint where screws are employed. With an appropriate pilot hole the screws drive easily. After full insertion I can ratchet down strongly to strengthen the joint. Chair joints I made ten years ago remain as tight as they left my shop.
