Comments about SPAX - #10 x 3'' High Corrosion Resistant Flat Head Screws:
I have been using spax screws for about 10 years now. I have only had good experiences with them. The combo drive lets you use standard phillips head when needed while allowing to use a square drive to really put some torque on these things without stripping head or camming out. Their HCR coating works great too. I have installed on many exterior applications with no signs of corrosion after 2 years! Oh yea...no predrilling needed in normal situations (i still predrill KD lumber) which is great. No splitting and very few times it strips the wood through threads.

We use these screws a lot on outdoor projects or where there is a chance of product failure due to rust. The large head pulls things together better and they go in pretty fast yet hold very well. Good thick shank but would be nice if they would not poke through a double 2x.
