Now you can build fences, gates, lawn furniture, deck railings, and even decks using pocket hole technology - without worrying whether the screws were up to the task. These new stainless steel pocket hole screws are specifically designed for exterior applications: they have beefy #10 shanks for strength, deep threads for superior holding power, and auger points for easy installation. Best of all, that beefy shank diameter of the pocket hole screws provides enough strength to easily join two pieces of Ipe decking, but still works with the standard 9/64” dia pilot hole provided by a Kreg pocket hole drill bit. Since stainless steel is softer than unhardened steel, the extra shank diameter compared to the normal #6 or #7 screw shank makes sure that the screw is strong enough to work in tropical hardwoods or pressure-treated lumber. Use a clutch-equipped drill to install these screws! Made in China. Unthreaded Length 1-3/8"
Pocket Hole Joinery: What You Need to Pocket hole joinery is popular because it is a fast, strong, easily adaptable, precise method of assembly. Joints are as strong as mortise & tenon joints and can be made in a fraction of the time. Award-Winning Kreg Jigs use a 3/8” counterbore bit with an 11/64” pilot to drill a 15° angle into the first piece. With the joint tightly clamped, a special self-drilling pocket hole screw is placed in the pocket and driven tight to complete the joint. Pocket Hole screws feature an auger point to prevent raising a chip between the two parts during assembly, ensuring a tight joint. A large pan head with a #2 Square Recess and extended unthreaded shank enable this screw to draw the two members of the joint tight.

Best Uses
Be careful not to over torque, I twisted off a couple out of 150 used. Be sure to have the drive bit in good alignment with the screw so you don't strip the square drive in the screw head, again only one or two out of all used. I was pleased with the product performance. When I ran out I reordered rather than switch brands.
This is a great product
