About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
I use these screws for any indoor woodworking project that calls for screws. I originally purchaced them in an assortment pack several years ago and now keep them on hand in sizes 6, 8, and 10 in various lengths. Before purchasing this type of screw, I used drywall screws and had many problems with the threads stripping or the screw head breaking. This fastener solved the problems as long as you follow McFeely's advice for pilot holes. Always use pilot holes, especially in hardwoods.
Don't be fooled by imitations!

Comments about #10 x 1-1/2'' Unplated Steel Flat Head Dry Lube Screws:
I recently ran out of my McFeeleys #10 wood screws and needed just a couple more. I know that the "big box" stores carry junk zinc but the local [...] store carries a line of hardened screws that look very similar to McFeeleys. They may look the same but they do not act the same. The head drive sockets stripped out almost as bad as the big box junk. Luckily, I had re-ordered from Mcfeeleys [...]. I ended up replacing every one of the [...] screws and throwing away the rest.
very very good
