Dual thread design eliminates volcano effect left by most screws in composite decking
The TrapEase screws are approved for use in composite decking as well as ACQ and CA-B pressure treated wood. Screws should be driven slightly lower than flush with the deck surface. The dual thread draws the composite material back into the screw hole resulting itn a smooth finish. The heads of the screws are #10 trim and require the use of a #2 Square Drive bit. Point is a gimlet point with a cutting notch. Not for use within 1,000 feet of salt water or on decks where de-icing salt will contact the deck. Available in 100 sq. ft. (350 screws) and 500 sq. ft. (1,750 screws) decking packages. One driver bit is included with each package. Made in Taiwan.

Comments about 10 x 2-1/2 FastenMaster Deck Screws, Stainless Steel, Trim Head, Square Drive:
I probably wasted 60+ screws because the head would strip out, leaving a half inch or more protruding above the decking. Then I had to use locking pliers to remove them (Very time consuming),for the price I paid, I really do expect better quality. Will not purchase again.
