Pocket hole joinery is versatile, easy, and fast, but you must have the correct screw for the job to realize its full potential. We designed the PocketMax™ pocket hole screw specifically for heavy-duty construction using 2x framing and pressure-treated lumber. It has an oversized head to deal with softwood effectively, the innovative ProMax Optimized Thread LengthTM shank to prevent crossthreading at the joint, and a self-drilling point to make installation easy. Use NoCoRode Undersized driver bits for best results. Made in Taiwan / China. Unthreaded Length 1-3/8"
Pocket Hole Joinery: What You Need to Pocket hole joinery is popular because it is a fast, strong, easily adaptable, precise method of assembly. Joints are as strong as mortise & tenon joints and can be made in a fraction of the time. Award-Winning Kreg Jigs use a 3/8” counterbore bit with an 11/64” pilot to drill a 15° angle into the first piece. With the joint tightly clamped, a special self-drilling “pocket hole” screw is placed in the pocket and driven tight to complete the joint. Pocket Hole screws feature an auger point to prevent raising a chip between the two parts during assembly, ensuring a tight joint. A large pan head with a #2 Square Recess and extended unthreaded shank enable this screw to draw the two members of the joint tight.

Comments about 8 x 2-5/8 NoCoRode PLUS PocketMax Pocket Hole Screws:
This product was used in assembling garden gates in cedar. In combination with a Kreg Pocket Rocket jig, installation was easy. The one caveat for users is not to over-torque these screws because they will tear out the wood fibers in soft woods. A torque setting of 10 on my Bosch drill-driver would work fine...any setting above that caused difficulties.

ease replacement of brocken parts
These screws are a great product.

While building fences on my five acres I needed a better way to make stretchers and corners. Trying to drive nails at the angle required was difficult so I started using pocket holes and these screws. They are easy to drive and make much stronger corners and stretchers than using nails. These screws don't back out after time like nails and they don't rust.
