Comments about 8 x 2-1/2 HeadCote Deck Screws, Stainless Steel, Trim Head, Square Drive:
I use these screws on Azecs facia boards. They are very sharp which makes them easy to install. My only slight dislike it that the white head coat is easily damaged during installation. If the coating were harder, these screws would be AMAZING. As they are, they are very, very good. Fairly expensive but a very good value because they will last an extremely long time.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Professional
I use these screws to install all my PVC exterior trim and moldings. They are easy to use and look nice. They hold well, and I've never had a case of them discoloring the PVC. I've been using them for years and will continue to use them in the future. I'm a professional and recommend them to all my clients. Most people now a days want a worry free job when it's completed.

Not that great
I thought these would be great for use with white Azek outside trim boards. But I had many spinouts from stripped heads despite the square bit design. After installing about 40 screws, I changed bits to a high quality bit I had on hand. No difference. I did only have one screw break out of about 90 installed, so they seem to be durable. But the white head design did not really hide the screw heads visually all that well. If total hiding is desired, it would be better to countersink and use a little putty or paint. I got the job done, but it would have been just as well to use stainless unpainted siding screws from my local hardware store.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
