Purchased to replace some screws in an existing wood deck that had become loose and just plain ugly. These work very well, and with the proper drive bit work well in many settings. Was able to use without pilot holes with few problems. Work better than the stock home center screws.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
