Whether you want the high tech look of exposed flat black screw heads, or just don’t want to bother with countersinking, but don’t want to see a shiny screw head, these black oxide plated flat head screws will be just the ticket. Black Oxide offers very little corrosion resistance though, so use in humid environments, wood with a high moisture content, or highly acidic woods like oak may result in some discoloration. For reference purposes, this finish is used on most socket head cap screws and other automotive style machine screws. Available in Combo Recess only. Made in US/Canada/Taiwan. #2 Square Recess.

Comments about 8 x 2 Wood Screws, Black Oxide, Flat Head, Square Drive:
I use these screws when ever I need to fasten something to wood. The square drive heads don't shear out as Phillips or those star things do.The buggle shaped head tends to pull into wood. (I should use flat heads for that application.)
