When it comes to resisting corrosion in the harsh conditions encountered around salt water, passivated 316 Stainless Steel is the undisputed champ. Its high nickel content together with a small percentage of Molybdenum make it exceptionally resistive to corrosive salts. This is really the best choice for all construction exposed to salt spray. Remember that even 316 stainless steel is more prone to breakage than the hardened steel screw you are probably used to using. Note the non-standard head diameters. Auger points are great for use with pressure-treated lumber but predrilling may be necessary in materials such as tropical hardwoods. Requires a #2 Driver Bit. Made in Taiwan.

Used these S.S. Screws in a Cedar Glider I am building. They drive into the wood very easy and the square drive does not strip out.
