You’ll be amazed at the difference an auger point makes on a stainless steel square drive screw. Great for use with pressure treated wood or premium materials like redwood and western red cedar because they are truly self-drilling. Passivated type 305 stainless steel provides even more corrosion resistance than the usual type 304 stainless (a bit of nickel really helps). Be sure to test or predrill when you install at the end of a board. Note the non-standard head diameters. Requires a #2 Driver Bit. Made in Taiwan.

Comments about 8 x 3/4 Self-Drilling Wood Screws, Stainless Steel, Flat Head, Square Drive:
These are perfect for attaching hardware to three-quarter material. Very aggressive threads. Take lots of torque and hold fast.

My application was unique. I was rebuilding cast iron deck benches that needed new wood. I was retasking Ipe (iroco) decking as slats for the benches using #8 x 3/4" SS screws. Even with predrilling, I torqued off a number of heads. I wanted #10 or #12 (original) screws, but at 3/4" they were not available. My bad!
