Use them wherever a finished appearance is desirable. Note that black oxide is primarily a decorative coating, and provides minimal corrosion resistance. These screws were used in combination with shelf supports - to hold the shelf in place. Perfect for 3/4 in thick plywood shelves. This product was perfect for this application.
