Silicon Bronze is the standard for Marine construction. It is corrosion resistant, helps prevent rot around the screw holes when used under water, can help avoid problems with dissimilar materials, and it is relatively strong. Though stronger than solid brass, silicon bronze screws are not quite as strong as our hardened steel screws. Use oversize pilot holes and proceed carefully! Screws 1" and shorter are threaded all the way to the head; longer screws are threaded for 2/3 of the shank. Made in USA or Canada.
