Specially designed for Pocket Hole Cabinet Construction (aka face frame), these screws have combined the toughness of our pan head screws. A self tapping auger point prevents the screw from forcing the rail and stile apart as it advances from part to part. A standard screw point can raise a chip between the parts, resulting in a gaping, unprofessional joint. The screw shank is only threaded for the first 5/8 to further reduce the possibility of cross-threading. Our Deep thread version provides maximum holding power in soft woods like Pine or Poplar where the wood fibers may crumble between fine threads. You normally can’t see these screws as they are installed so it can be hard to gauge their progress. Use a clutch equipped drill and avoid disaster! Made in China/Taiwan. #2 Square Recess. Unthreaded Length 7/16"

Pocket Hole Joinery: What You Need to
Pocket hole joinery is popular because it is a fast, strong, easily adaptable, precise method of assembly. Joints are as strong as mortise & tenon joints and can be made in a fraction of the time. Award-Winning Kreg Jigs use a 3/8” counterbore bit with an 11/64” pilot to drill a 15° angle into the first piece. With the joint tightly clamped, a special self-drilling “pocket hole” screw is placed in the pocket and driven tight to complete the joint.
Pocket Hole screws feature an auger point to prevent raising a chip between the two parts during assembly, ensuring a tight joint. A large pan head with a #2 Square Recess and extended unthreaded shank enable this screw to draw the two members of the joint tight.
