You’ll be amazed at the difference an auger point makes on a stainless steel square drive screw. Great for use with pressure treated wood or premium materials like redwood and wester red cedar because they are truly self-drilling. Passivated type 305 stainless steel provides even more corrosion resistance than the usual type 304 stainless (a bit of nickel really helps). Be sure to test or predrill when you install at the end of a board. Requires a #2 Driver Bit. Note the non-standard head diameters. Made in Taiwan. Head diameter: .344

About Me Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
Comments about 6 x 1 Self-Drilling Wood Screws, Stainless Steel, Flat Head, Square Drive:
I needed this stainless screw for a project with a bunch of restrictions: stainless (rust and stains would be unsightly), durable (I have to remove panels from time to time for cleaning so the screw recesses can't round-out from frequent driving; I don't want to break off screw heads with too much torque). IF these screws are intact in 10 years, that will be the real proof. One minor point of dissatisfaction: the mailing box was huge compared to the product but maybe your delivery system doesn't handle small packages

The #6 screws are very weak. Don't even think about using an impact driver with these, even if you're VERY careful, you'll break 1 of 5 or more. Also, they have a bugle head which won't easily self-countersink. I was attaching 5/16" thick cedar panels and both the 1" and 1 1/4" length would start to strip with the heads still slightly proud. Get the #8 SS deck screws instead.
