Whether you want the high tech look of exposed flat black screw heads, or just don’t want to bother with countersinking, but don’t want to see a shiny screw head, these black oxide plated screws will be just the ticket. Black Oxide offers very little corrosion resistance though, so use in humid environments, wood with a high moisture content, or highly acidic woods like oak may result in some discoloration. For reference purposes, this finish is used on most socket head cap screws and other automotive style machine screws. Available in Combo Recess only. Made in US/Canada/Taiwan. #1 Square Recess.

Nice solid little screws

I had never used square driver type screws before. Had the square bits in my tool case so I figured why not try some. Plus I couldn't find any small phillips black oxide screws for sale anywhere. Picked up 100 of these, way more than I'll ever need, and installed some drawer pulls with them. Perfect fit and blend in well with the black pulls over the silver screws they came with. These particular screws' size is pretty small. I'm using 13/16" material with about a 2/64" recess routered out of the back so the pulls fit flush. They go in deep enough to the wood but don't come out the other side. That was my big problem looking for screws at the big box stores.
Great product
