A CLEAR wood grain filler? I don’t know how they did it, but this new wood grain filler really does dry virtually transparent. That means that every bit of the wood’s color (stained or not) comes through brilliantly. Filling the wood grain before applying the clear coats helps eliminate those distracting little pock marks where the finish didn’t completely fill the pores. Simply rub it in and trowel it off to remove the excess. Paste left behind in the pores will level the surface so you can lay down a silky smooth finish. You can tint it with just a dab of latex paint colorant or universal tint (available from most paint stores). May be used with waterborne or solvent-based topcoats. For best results, stain the wood before applying CrystaLac Clear Wood Grain Filler. Paste wood grain filler is a special blend of silica, clays, ground glass, and binder. CPF-2530 is only available as a quart.
Note: Wood grain filler is not designed to fill nail holes (use wood putty for that).
