Pocket hole joinery is a fast, strong, and precise method of making joints as strong as mortise & tenon joints in far less time. With the joint tightly clamped, a special self-drilling pocket-hole screw should be used.
Kreg™ designed these round washer-head pocket-hole screws to fit perfectly with the contour of the pocket holes produced by the family of Award-Winning Kreg™ Pocket-Hole Jigs and Machines. What makes the Kreg™ pocket-hole screws work?:
- the round washer-head provides greater surface area beneath the screw head than industry standard pan-head screws
- an auger point to prevent drilled material from being raised between the two parts which could cause gaps in the joint.
- Unlike general purpose screws, the pocket-hole screw has a longer (3/4") unthreaded portion of the shank. This prevents the screw from "jacking" or pulling the pieces apart.
