New Product Offerings – Within the next 4 – 5 weeks, we plan to debut the following:
- Fully-threaded SPAX screws in a variety of finishes, materials & head types
- HEPA-filter equipped Fein dust extractors and Fein 6" and 8" random-orbit sanders
- Blaklader utility vests in sizes from S – XXL
- Chisels, planes and other hand-tools made in Sheffield, England (the Footprint line)
- The Dowelmax!
As always, we're aware and appreciative of your ongoing comments. Keep them coming and we pledge that we will do our best to expand our line however possible and appropriate.
Mepla Cabinetry Lights – We introduced Mepla-Alfit's line of cabinet lights in our January '08 catalog but didn't include replacement bulbs. We've since corrected that mistake wherever possible. You can find replacement bulbs and prices on the individual Mepla light pages on our website and they'll be added to our upcoming May catalog as well.
The Kapex – Many of you have heard of Festool's upcoming compound, sliding miter-saw named the Kapex (here's a pretty neat discussion of it from Popular Woodworking: http://blogs.popularwoodworking.com/editorsblog/Festools+Kapex+A+Different+Miter+Saw.aspx).
We receive a fair number of calls on this one daily. Questions asked include “What features will it have?” and “What will be the retail price?”. We've even had more than a few people ask if they can reserve it.
But we can't do much at the current time. Festool North America isn't sure when this tool will debut in the US (although we're hopeful that it will debut in late 2008), what features it may have on the US model or what the actual retail price may be. There's simply too much to be decided for us to ask for customers to reserve one. You have our promise that as soon as the US debut is more concrete, we'll do our best to get ample inventory to support you. For now however, we just have to be patient.
Freud's New Quadra-Cut Blades – The advertising is out and we are starting to receive these in our warehouse. However, Freud's roll-out of these is an enhancement of a current line and not a new line altogether. As a result, our inventory is mixed. We will not change the prices or descriptions of our Freud router bits until we know for sure that all of our stock is the new design. That's the fairest way to go about this. Some will receive the new design as a nice surprise in the interim but we can't promise anyone the new design until all stock has been changed.
Festool's Multi-function Tables & The Toolie-tool – The tables have been discontinued in favor of a new model. Unfortunately, those new models haven't been introduced yet although we're hoping for Spring 2008. As is the case with the Kapex, no more details are available at this time. McFeely's™ remaining stock will be available only while supplies last so if you were on the fence about buying a table...
The toolie-tool has been discontinued as well and, as of now, there are no plans to replace it.
McFeely's™ Machine Screws – Our manufacturer has mixed stock. As a result, some of these have the square recess and others have the combo recess. Unfortunately, we can't offer a recess choice at the present time. Please email r.pegram@mcfeelys.com if this presents a problem for your application.
